Storage Solutions
In certain situations, you may want or need storage of firearms. Avoid legal headaches: CAD will keep your guns secure with competitive daily rates.
Where will your firearms will be stored?
CAD reserves the right to store your firearms in any safe, secure, private, and legal location. Your firearms will be accessible by CAD on short notice, by appointment.
Complete firearms will be stored in a locked biometric or combination safe, provided there is sufficient space. If there is not sufficient space in a safe, CAD will disable your firearm and store it securely outside of a safe. Other items are unlikely to be stored in a safe, but will likewise be stored in a secure, climate-controlled environment.
Are there limitations to what CAD will store?
CAD is a small business. While this has it’s benefits in terms of cost and personal attention, CAD is not equipped to store large volume, unusually large firearms and destructive devices, or biohazards of any kind. CAD reserves the right to refuse storage of any item that cannot reasonably be safely, securely, and cost-effectively stored.
How much does storage at CAD cost?
Storage fees for most purposes are $5/day for one to five firearms, and an additional $1/day for each additional firearm.
An exception is made for storage pending litigation to restore Second Amendment rights under state and/or federal law. In this instance, storage will be a long-term need, so CAD reduces your fee to only $5/week for up to five firearms, and an additional $1/week for each additional firearm.
How will you be billed?
For storage related to an ongoing transaction, the storage surcharge will be added to your bill at the time of transfer. For storage independent of a transfer, you will execute our storage contract and remit a payment for at least a portion of the anticipated storage time when you sign the contract. Charges will then be invoiced monthly.
What if you do not pay for storage?
Any orders that have been paid for but not picked up by the customer within 30 days of the first date of billing for storage, without notice to CAD to extend such storage and agreement from CAD, will be deemed abandoned and become property of CAD. The item(s) may continue to be held longer if the customer makes arrangements and payments for storage. CAD will endeavor to, but is not required to, seek storage arrangements with customers when customers fail to pick up an order by the time the applicable storage grace period ends.
Who has to pay for storage?
CAD offers a grace period for many customers who need storage. Storage fees are applicable only when:
- You are seeking storage pending litigation to restore your firearms rights.
- You have been approved for an Online Transfer or purchased from our inventory but have not picked up your firearm within 14 days. Billing begins on Day 15.
- You have initiated a Person-to-Person Transfer, but the transferee has not picked up the firearms within 14 days. Billing begins on Day 15, and will be billed to the transferee.
- You have been denied for a transaction and wish to hold the gun pending resolution of a PICS Challenge. There is also a 30-day grace period with no charge.
Does CAD insure against loss or damage to my firearms?
Yes! Should anything happen to your firearms (aside from typical wear, such as degrading of the barrel from improper cleaning), CAD will reimburse you for your firearm(s) at a reasonable value determined at the time you sign your storage contract. This offer of reimbursement does not necessarily cover the loss or damage of firearms by unforeseeable, unpreventable causes such as catastrophic weather events.
